EXPLORE FEATURES ↓How the crown was broken, and how it will be forged again.

For nine hundred years the realm was held under one banner. The Iron Kings ruled from the black keep of Ironhold, and the mountains gave them ore, and the ore gave them peace. It was said no arrow could pierce the walls of Ironhold, and no famine could darken its granaries.

Then came the winter that would not end. The mines went silent. The last Iron King, old and heirless, was found dead upon his throne — some say by poison, some say by a knife pressed by his own steward. When word reached the four great Houses that had knelt to him for centuries, no crown, no writ of succession, and no living son remained.

House Vermil raised the red banner in the south, where the forges still burned. House Azure sailed under the deep colours of the coast, where the fleets still answered. House Verdant closed the forest roads and spoke of a older, quieter throne. House Amethyst — the least of them, the strangest of them — walked out of the ruined libraries with a claim written on ancient vellum.

None would kneel. None could rule alone. For a generation the realm has bled — small keeps, small raids, no decisive stroke. Every commander who plants a banner draws three more. This is the war you have inherited. This is the war you will end, or feed.

You are no king. Not yet. You are a lord with one stone tower, one iron mine, one company of levies, and a name the realm has never heard. But the crown lies at Ironhold still — unclaimed, uncrowned, waiting. Every keep you raise, every host you march, every alliance you swear moves it closer to your hand, or another's.
